Improving Smiles and Transforming Lives

Dentistry is a wonderful profession. I get to help people gain confidence in their smile or move them out of dental pain, which improves their quality of life. Dental care helps people develop better oral, bodily, and emotional health. When people are healthy, and know their smile looks great, they feel better about themselves and more comfortable in social situations. I play a role in making people’s lives better, one person at a time!

I’ve been practicing dentistry for more than 15 years. I was drawn to the profession because of the opportunities it offers to really get to know people and build lasting relationships, all while helping them. Having a beautiful smile can truly change a person’s life; people become more confident and outgoing, they’re more successful in personal and professional situations, and they’re happier, too.

I value the relationships that grow between my patients and me. Each of them has their own stories to share and I find I learn from our conversations. I look forward to each person’s visits as a time to hear what’s happening with their families, their travels, and their achievements at work or in school. Being a dentist is about caring for people on a personal level; it’s immensely fulfilling and rewarding.

Education and Continuing Education

I received my Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, in Lincoln. That education provided me with a great foundation for understanding oral health. However, this is a constantly evolving field: advances in techniques, revolutionary technologies, and new materials are always being developed.

In order to provide patients with the best care and treatment options, I must remain current on all developments. It’s my goal to provide multiple services at the highest level to my patients; they deserve nothing less.

I complete many hours of continuing education every year. I’m a member of CEREC® Doctors, have completed a fellowship at the Misch Implant Institute, and another fellowship with the International Congress of Oral Implantology. I’m also a graduate of the Progressive Orthodontic Seminars.

Personal Life

Originally from Rushville, I’ve made my home in Grand Island for more than 15 years. My wife Katie and I have four wonderful children: Kinnley, Kelton, Kyler, and Kamaera. Outside the office, you’ll usually find me with my family. I especially enjoy supporting my kids in their activities. I also enjoy playing golf during the summer and doing some hunting in the fall.

In the Community

I think it’s important to be active in one’s community and to give back to others. I’m a member of the Knights of Columbus and help coach youth baseball and softball programs, too.

Improving Oral Health and Changing Lives

As a dentist concentrating on dental implants, I appreciate the opportunity to serve my community. I am passionate about caring for people and helping them attain and keep healthy, beautiful smiles.

Every patient is unique: their goals, concerns, clinical situation, and their life are specific to them. I work closely with each patient to figure out what approach is right for their needs. This ensures they have timely, appropriate care and finish with a natural-looking restoration that’s stable, functional, and lets them get back to enjoying life.

My parents, all my immediate family, and most of my extended family are involved in healthcare. Becoming a dentist was the natural path for me, as I love working with my hands and being able to change lives while doing so.

I love how my profession brings me into contact with people from all walks of life, each with their own stories and experiences to share. I enjoy getting to know patients as people and learning what’s important to them. Our conversations never fail to make me think, make me smile, and make me a better rounded person.

Education and Continuing Education

My undergraduate studies were completed at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, where I received a Bachelor of Science in biology. My Doctorate of Dental Medicine was awarded by the Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine in Glendale, Arizona.

I continue to further my dental education in all aspects of oral healthcare. However, I’ve concentrated on dental implants and completed more than 400 hours of continuing education in implant and sedation dentistry.

I have received an associate fellowship in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, a fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and am working toward a fellowship in DOCS Education for sedation. I am also a graduate of Progressive Orthodontic Seminars.

The ability to provide the best possible care, tailored to each patient’s needs, is essential. I keep up to date through continuing education to learn about new techniques, products, and treatments. I want to use the most advanced approaches and technology to enhance my patients’ experience and deliver the best results.

Beyond the Practice

I was raised in McCook, in the southwest part of the state. Now I call Grand Island my home. My wife Anna grew up here and graduated from Northwest High School. She has her BSN and has practiced as a registered nurse. Right now she’s a stay-at-home mom with our two young boys, Ben and Evan, and our new daughter, Sadie.

Being with my family is important to me. I love time with the boys and watching them grow. I also enjoy sharing some of my hobbies with them: I love being outdoors, especially when we’re camping, fishing, and hunting.

In the Community

I feel it’s essential to be an active part of one’s community, to give back and help others. I volunteer for the Third City Community Clinic. I speak with high-school students and dental-hygiene students about dentistry and oversee their patient care. I’m also actively involved at Resurrection Catholic Church.
